Register Now for the 2020-21 Race Season

The Chisholm Alpine Race staff is looking forward to leaving 2020 in the dust & racing into 2021. We're putting safety first & have a plan to support the health & wellness of our community with quality outdoor programming & a plan to keep our distance & maximize our time on the hill.

The Covid-19 Elephant in the Room

After doing careful research & gathering the best information, we're confident we can have a safe season of practicing & racing. Our plan to tackle Covid-19 risk is based on the recommendations put forth by USSA & the CDC for youth sports, & the Ski Well, Be Well Program that is being promoted by the National Ski Areas Association. While we cannot eliminate all risk, we're striving to mitigate our risk exposure & maximize the value of the program. The positive health outcomes of developing a lifelong sport & a group of friends in the outdoors is the best medicine for our community. The specific policies may change as the guidance from our public health experts evolve, as we learn more about how our program functions in the Covid era, & as we communicate & work together to keep our community safe & healthy.

The principals of our plan are to observe & assess the possible risk exposure on a daily basis, screen for possible illness & exposure, seek fresh air, wear masks when appropriate, increase social distance, & minimize group sizes. These principals will not change regardless of policy changes.

The Gritty Details

PUT THE HEALTH OF OTHERS FIRST.

Please take the time to read more the detailed information we have provided HERE. Remember, we are in this together & share the responsibility of staying safe.

Enough About Covid. What About the Skiing?

From the desk of Coach Justin, "With all that said, I'm confident that this will be our best year of skiing yet! We are leaning in to what we already do well & adding value with new technology & knowledge from new coaches. Video resources will be expanded this year with access to Dartfish. This incredible tool will be used to pinpoint specific movement patterns that require attention & the ability to share & critique video will increase the focus & attention to detail with each & every athlete without sacrificing time on task. Racing will happen this year! Field sizes have been limited to 100 participants, & there may be format changes, but MJSL & MARA have released schedules for racing. Black Mountain will host several home races for those who do not wish to travel to races this year. Our staff has expanded to recruit new talent. Andrew Arsenault, hometown hero & local legend will join the team as an adjunct coach. Andrew has coached with the CART team in the past & as many of you have seen from the chairlift, he knows how to shred. Myself, Alice, Ellie, & Jeff will round out the coaching team. The T-bar will be running again this year to keep time on the hill at a maximum & quality of training high."
